El Arado Clinic was founded in 2002 by Anita and Greg Giagnacavo.  It is located approximately 1 hour from Guatemala City and is a remote area, 30 minutes off the paved road.   It serves approximately 8000 very poor Myans. Most of the patients are young women and  many, many children.  Malnutrition, respiratory infections and parasitic infections are endemic. Their 50 cent donation brings them a consult with the doctor, their medications, and lab exams.  Transportation cost and hospital expenses are also usually paid for.   Without the clinic, they have no real access to health care.  For more information, click here, http://www.hands-of-hope.com/
