Home for Girls

Prince of Peace Home for Girls was founded in 1985 by Al Sanchez.  After a trip to Guatemala where Al saw many homeless girls, his dream was to have a place where girls such as these could have a safe place to live and grow.   Al continued to work on this dream until it became a reality.

As the girls began to arrive they were housed in individual houses.  Then in 1989, an anonymous donor gave an 8 acre tract of land to the Home for use and everyone was brought to one campus.

In 2002, Al returned to the US because of health reasons and the Lord brought Paul and Lana Sanders to administer the Home.   Having the experience of running a girls home in Kentucky for 17 years helped a lot as Paul and Lana began their new task.

There are currently from 40 – 50 girls at Prince of Peace where they are placed by the courts when need arises for them to be removed from abusive homes.   They come and adjust and flourish in an environment of love.  At Prince of Peace the girls meet and make friends and attend school on campus and help with chores.   Many also take lessons to learn a musical instrument.  The girls who have been at the home longer help the new ones adjust and as a result the home and grounds are a place where the girls grow spiritually as well as physically and emotionally and mentally.
